Open vs. closed track end caps
| Style | Choose it when | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Open | A light cable or extension wire needs to exit the end of the track. | The built-in notch gives the wire a clean exit path without being pinched by the cap. |
| Closed | The track ends here and no wire needs to pass through the cap. | The solid face covers the terminal track end for a clean, finished appearance. |
Quick rule: If wiring must leave the end of the track, select Open. If nothing passes through the end, select Closed.
Installation note: End caps finish the track opening; they do not replace the normal weatherproof protection required for outdoor electrical connections.
