Start with the issue that matches your screen.

I cannot find the Bright Home Lights app

In BHL, open Settings → Integrations → ChatGPT and tap Open ChatGPT again. Confirm that you are signed in to the intended ChatGPT account. If the app is unavailable there, ask BHL support for help and include the message you see.

My BHL sign-in is not working

Use the email and password for the BHL account that contains your lights. Confirm that you can sign in to the BHL app, then retry the ChatGPT connection. If the iPhone sign-in prompt was dismissed, reopen the installation flow and tap Continue.

ChatGPT cannot see my lights

In BHL, open Settings → Integrations → ChatGPT and choose Manage devices & presets. Check the device’s AI access and save changes. Confirm that the account used during connection is the same one that holds the device. Return to a chat with Bright Home Lights and ask which devices are accessible.

A device is listed, but a request does not work

Check the device’s online status in BHL and confirm it responds in the BHL app. Use its exact name in your request. If you are applying a preset, check that it exists in your account and is available for AI access. Review ChatGPT’s response for the specific error before retrying.

Does changing AI access connect ChatGPT?

No. The BHL screen explains that saving access settings does not connect an assistant. Complete installation and BHL sign-in in ChatGPT. Access settings apply to other assistants connected to the same BHL account too.

Why can’t the assistant see my local WLED controller?

Control compatible WLED lights connected to your Bright Home Lights cloud account using natural language. Devices must be connected to your BHL cloud account and enabled for AI access. A standalone local WLED controller is not automatically accessible through the BHL MCP connector; support depends on the device and firmware. This connection does not provide arbitrary raw WLED commands.

First confirm the device appears and responds in the BHL app, then enable it for AI access. If it is missing, follow the BHL WLED controller Wi-Fi setup guide or ask BHL support about compatibility.

Run through the connection again
